hi I've been going through posts here and so far have not been able to find any answers. I have a usb flash drive that works fine. I lplugged in a 250gig monsoon 7200rpm external drive, and nothing happens. dmesg gives me this

when I try modprobe ehci_hcd it say not found. I've seen others with this issue, have there been any answers? I have a dell Inspiron 8600 with ubuntu jaunty 9.04 installed and latest updates applied. I would appreciate a solution to this problem. thanks
