WINE just requires Linux.
It isn't full-proof and you should look up your programs' compatibility here first: http://appdb.winehq.org/

thanks, I go through the forums everyday and nobody asks that question.
What kind of "audio reproduction" programs?
Something to convert my vinyl to cd with out a lot of hassle, I was using nch-golden records with great sucsess before my mobo took a hike, replaced it, microsoft wouldn`t reactivate my key so here I am.. using that program, I could record albunm> burn to cd>rip back into mediaplayer in about 1hr with good results if there is anthing already in ubuntu I`d would like to know about it, I haven`t found it yet.
Why wouldn't Microsoft reactivate your key?
it`s a looooong story but anyway, the tech geek at my wifes job built a pc for me, worked great, most of it is sitting next to me(lol), even paid for xp pro! He took the key and used it on other pc`s that he built, MS said key was used up, we moved, not to much I can do about it!! I could probably do something about it but I don`t need the hassle, I figure he`ll get whats coming to him sooner or later..
re: x-bane
I might do that if I new how (lol). i can`t find my xp pro disk, but a friend gave me a xp home new unopened they stilll gave me the runaround.
I`m starting school next month [51yrs old, going back to school],for IT,so I figure I need both, but anyway I want to transfer my vinyl to cd with the least amount of problems possible
