Running lucid since the beta.. no issues whatsoever now you mention it... Well some software related glitches that got ironed out in the final release.

No matter how great your product is, if you don't throw time and money against it it's a sh#tt# system. ubuntu <-> apple <-> microsoft

Running Lucid on mine as well. I installed a slightly older Atheros wifi card before installing, I keep a couple extra that I know work flawlessly in Linux.

I am having the speaker problem though. When I plug in my headphones, the speakers still play

It's been really good for me so far. Installation was super smooth. Haven't tried headphones, but an annoying sound issue I had with Firefox seems to have cleared up. One of my favorite things about Ubuntu is things generally get better with each release.

With Lucid my screen keeps flickering a little bit.
Everything else works out of the box.

I have the "BestBuy" version of this laptop, and everything works fine except when I plug in headphones, the sound still comes out of the speakers in the laptop too; the speakers don't mute when headphones are plugged in.

    any suggestions?

    btw im using Ubuntu 10.04

I'm having the same issue's with the screen bugging out and the sound playing through the headphones and the main speakers in 10.4 on my k5oij, i've been searching for fix's but none of them appear to pertain to this model or version. If anyone has a link to a relevant thread i would be most pleased.

one year after this post and still have the cam issue around!
It seems like no patch were added in new Ubuntu releases. I have this problem running ubuntu Lucid. I'm going to try it... we'll see

You need to give permission to that file to be executable.
    Code:
    man chmod
Read this to get all the info
