Arrow Computer Freezes and Displays a White Screen

I have an Asus Barebone Vintage V1 computer. It has an Asus A8R-MX/DP motherboard. I think the problem is in my video card embedded in the motherboard, an ATI Radeon XPress 200. I have installed all Ubuntu releases since 7.10 and it has frozen and displayed either a white screen or another color. The computer doesn't respond to my mouse nor keyboard, so I am forced to hard reboot.
I have also tried Fedora Core 11 to also receive crashing. I used to triple boot Ubuntu, Windows XP Home SP3 and Kubuntu until I reformatted my hard drive. It ran perfectly in Windows and Kubuntu, but not in the two GNOME-based distros I've tried.

Please help. I'll be happy to get you any info you might need.

lspci | grep VGA results in:
    Code:
01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RS482 [Radeon Xpress 200]
