I've searched high and low, but I can't find any recent information about writing to UDF discs in Ubuntu. In windows you can format a DVD or CD to UDF and use it like a giant floppy. I am able to mount and read these disks fine in 9.04, but it mounts read only. I'm using UDF version 2.01, as that is readable in XP+ and Mac. I haven't tried the newer 2.50 which is also an option in Vista (actually using Server 2008).

I tried installing the udftools package as recommended on a forum about 7.10, but that's really old info. I configured it to use my drive, but it made no difference.

Has anyone cracked this? I realize in the days of $10 usb flash drives it may not be a priority, but it would be a great feature.
