Firefox optimization and troubleshooting thread

Hey, I have a problem with my titlebar. Am using Lubuntu 12.04. Unlike in Ubuntu when the everything is fully maximised the titlear dissapears, in Lubuntu there is a massive titlebar above it saying the webpage in big letters and the firefox icons on the left hand side, no matter whether it is maximised or not.

Any ideas? Thank you!

Installing Firefox in Lubuntu will also pull in the firefox-globalmenu package. Try ininstalling it, then logout/in.

I'm a bit of a newbie to the whole thing I'm afraid, where should I go to do this without screwing up firefox?

Synaptic Package Manager, alternatively, run this in a terminal window:

sudo apt-get remove firefox-globalmenu

Either way should not screw up anything.

You can also uninstall it using the Software Center. Just launch it, search for firefox-globalmenu, select the result and click the remove button.
