    Can't get fan speed with lm-sensors

    I am trying to get lm-sensors to detect my fan speed. I have it detecting my cpu and gpu temps, but can't get the fan speeds to read. I have the heatsink fan as well as two case fans. All three are connected to the motherboard (Asus P5Q-E) with 3 pin connectors. In Windows, Speedfan can detect the fan speeds, so they must be reported somehow.

    I have installed lm-sensors, and run sensors-detect. Here is the output of the senors command (I had already run sensors-detect) and the output of sensors-detect:

    I am using Ubuntu Jaunty 64 bit, if that is an important part of the problem/solution.
    My etc/modules file has the following entries:

    lp
    rtc
    coretemp

    I found an ok solution here:

    from that, I did a "sudo modprobe w83627ehf force_id=0x8860" command in terminal.

    the sensors command now shows the fan speeds, and other new info. The numbers seem plausible, and I'll go with that.

    EDIT:
    The command does not survive a reboot, apparently, and I'm back to no fan speed data. Is there a way to make the [sudo modprobe w83627ehf force_id=0x8860] command "stick"?

    Searching these forums provided the answer. I added "w83627ehf force_id=0x8860" to the /etc/modules file
