Re: No Video Playback on Websites

Ok I did that, uninstalled and reinstalled, first Youtube came up with a grey screen with a big play button and I clicked it to a black screen.

I exited and restarted firefox, then I went in Youtube and it worked fine, went to Dailymotion, same situation, Grey square and clicked and blank, go exit and bamm, only this time I see a picture but there is no sound, and the video is not playing but instead its like looking at a powerpoint slide every few moments the picture changes.

Went to an ummm.. an adult website, and the background of the screen just stayed black (this was after a restart form the grey screen). as far as I know its a flash video because there is a button saying "click here to d/; Flash videos"

Re: No Video Playback on Websites

Hi. I'm having a similar problem with my flash player. I can't get any videos to work (including youtube) and I also can't use any internet games. I found a post a few weeks ago which had a list of things to type into terminal which would fix it. It was basically uninstalling flash player and then reinstalling it. And it worked. Only once I closed FF and then opened it again on another occasion, it wasn't working again. Unfortunately I can't find this post so I can't fix the problem. Does anyone know why it always resets and stops working?

Sorry, I am unable to resolve your issues. As someone else in the forum states, "I am a user, not an expert" I suggest you start a new thread of your own. Then it will get the attention it needs. Postings within an existing, old thread are generally only saw by those who are subscribed to it. A new thread is right there for everyone to see! Good Luck
