I was wondering if better digital audio support is ever planned on being added to Ubuntu? I had posted this thread a month back looking for help but it never got any hits/responses.

I dropped a post over on LQ and someone there was able to help me get it working through MPlayer how ever I would really like to use digital audio with my YouTube videos, as well as my wine/cedega games. Are there any plans at the moment to add better digital audio support to *buntu?
