Re: HOW-TO: Connect Sixaxis to Ubuntu trough bluetooth mode

It has been two days since I fight with bluez between the versions 3.xx and 4.xx and I finally find your comment. QtSixA works very well, I was able to calibrate my joystick.

However, the axes 4, 5 and 6 seem to be axes for the detection of movements. Here is what jstest gives me:

The three axes being never equal to 0, I cannot use the Sixaxis in games, because when I try to configure keys, axes are assigned. If somebody knows how to deactivate them it would be nice.

This was my first concern when I coded the accelerometers (axis 4-7).
You can choose what events to enable in QtSixA -> "Configure Sixaxis".
Just disable the accelerometers, click apply and re-connect.

    Enjoy!

Re: HOW-TO: Connect Sixaxis to Ubuntu trough bluetooth mode

Woaw I didn't see the Settings menu.
    Well, now it's definitely wonderful.

Also, it's great to use L3/R3 to enable the mouse mode.

I just want to know if it's normal that the Signal Quality is always about 5%? Anyway, it's working well.
And last one: Can I change the joystick sensitive for the mouse mode? Because it's too fast.

    And again, thanks a lot.

I usually gets 90-100% signal quality, but what matters is that it works.
You can change the sensitivity of the mouse, if you create a new profile.

Check those in "/usr/share/qtsixa/sixaxis-profiles" and edit them as you need.

Because I want to use the option which disconnect the pad if the signal quality is low. Anyway, I can do without it.
How can I create a new profile? (Do I have to modify an existing one like sixa-gnome.fdi? If yes, do I have to change the value between '+' and 'x'? "mode=relative axis=+2x")

If you double click on -bin file, you will see a window with a button at the top right corner: "Install". Click on it and it will install itself automatically. Do the same with the other .deb file.

You're right changing that value "+2x" and "+2y" will do the trick.
You can copy the profile, modify it, then on the Sixaxis profiles you can add it (so you can have both the original and the modified).

Of course you can just modify the original file, that works too (but the file will be replaced when QtSixA is updated)

Thank you very much for your support
