    no desktop, or menus?

    I just did apt updates, rebooted and now when xubuntu auto logs on all i get is a blue screen and cursor, no menus, no right click options, nothing.

    Tried doing failsafe for both kernel versions nothing works??

    suggestions?

    Try typing
    Code:
    sudo tasksel
    and see if either ubuntu-desktop, xubuntu-desktop, or kubunutu-desktop is installed ***WARNING*** Dont play around with tasksel
    Be careful what you tinker around with
