How to make nautilus use mplayer for thumbnails

Finally solved my problems with the mplayer suite and happily erased that buggy sort of player called totem. I won't waste hard drive space just for that unfinished junk. So is there a way to make nautilus use/call mplayer for thumbnail generation?

Yes, thank you, this is the software I was looking for. The only problem is that there is no .deb associated. And compiling can leave some unaccountable files on the system.

So the answer is actually installing the KDE file browser as it has this tool in the repository.
