run kmv with a real time kernel?
can it be done? I had kvm/qemu with virt manager working great on 9.04 regular ubuntu. I installed jack audio some other ubuntu studio stuff (just the audio) and as suggested took the real time kernel. well you guessed it..when I try to start my guest (centos) machine now from virt manager it fails. I did a complete reinstall of the kvm and virt this and that packages but no difference I cannot start the centos or add a new machine...so it is just boot to the rt for audio stuff (planning to learn ardour/rosegarden and the regular for virtualization, or is there a way to get virtualization working with the rt kernel...thanks much.
oh also...if I can get my presonus firepod working since that is a low latency firewire external card...do I even need a rt kernel to do recording.
thanks for reading.
