Smile Not sure if you guys know about this but...

I have been looking both on the forums and in google for a way to have adobe reader working on 64-bit Ubuntu... I could not find any answers anywhere so I checked the Medibuntu repository and what do you know, they have packages of adobe reader for 64-bit Ubuntu! Even plug-ins for Firefox and multiple language packs! Here are the repos:

    Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex:
    Code:
    ## Medibuntu
    deb http://packages.medibuntu.org/ intrepid free non-free
    Ubuntu 9.04 JAunty Jackelope:
    Code:
    ## Medibuntu
    deb http://packages.medibuntu.org/ jaunty free non-free

    You're welcome.

Are there any features Adobe Reader has over the existing pre-installed pdf reader? I see a lot of people talking about installing it, and find myself thinking "why?" ...

In Windows, I always found it to be slow, clunky and intrusive (wish it would shut up about updating and just let me get on with reading the pdf I'm trying to open). How does it compare in Linux?

yeah i hear you... it is pretty intrusive in windows.

the only reason i wanted adobe is for my work. I need to be able to view pdf's online and i have been unable to find anything else that does that.
