    how to make deb packages

    Dear reader,

Could anyone advise me a good tutorial 'for dummies' of how to create my own packages from source, and add my own repository?

I need to build some packages myself, and distribute them in a production-environment so building them with all the dependencie -dev's and build-essentials on the machine in which it will run is no longer an option. Let alone doing an update.

I found some info on building for Debian, but I don't seem to get into it. I found one tutorial on Ubuntu-packaging, but that did not include managing dependencies of the package.

I post it here, as I did not find another place I thought I could post my question. And it looks like a good thing to talk about in a bar-like setting

very comprehensive guide on the wiki: http://wiki.ubuntu.com/PackagingGuide. Good luck, it's pretty intense!

These links already seem a lot more promising then I have found up till now.

Even instruction videos.... wow, how crazy can Linux userfriendliness get..

Seems like I have been searching too long for information on pages I could also open in Lynx.

Can't wait to get my hands wet on pbuilder.
