I have been irritated for quite a while by a behaviour in nautilus, which I now think is a bug.

When viewing a folder contents in the 'list' view rather than as icons, in windows (no, bear with me!) there is a always a small gap at the bottom of the list, into which I can drag some new files I am copying to that directory.
In ubuntu, if there is too many files to fit in the window there is no gap, and so I have to change the file view to icons if I want to copy anything into that directory. Or is there another way around this?
