Napaka-rami nang diskusyon tungkol diyan http://wwww.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=293623

Pinapabayaan ko na lang. Kailangan ko ng Tomboy notes at GNOME Do eh.

That's old stuff. If you have Tomboy in your default Ubuntu install, then you have Mono. Also, Mono will allow you to use Livestation

    Re: Mono in Ubuntu

I don't have any philosophical issues with Mono. I'm more interested in the technical benefits that it can offer. It is probably because I tend to focus more on the pragmatic side of software engineering.

Besides, the guy who started Mono is the same one who started Gnome. He is perhaps looking into the pragmatic side of the technology as well.

    Re: Mono in Ubuntu

As long as you're not dependent on any software that runs on top of Mono, it won't hurt removing it.

When I say 'dependent', think of it as Flash-enabled sites. The only reason my non-techy cousins could use our laptop with Ubuntu installed is because of proprietary software installed in it. (Adobe Flash Player, A/V Codecs, etc)

That is on browsing Youtube/Imeem/etc and playing Farmville/Farmtown/etc -- they still haven't adjusted using OpenOffice

It simply shows that, for Ubuntu to be useable for general public, it needs those non-FOSS installations.

Hmm... I'm guessing MS will release Mono Express
