Hi all
I have just successfully installed Ubuntu 9.04 onto my PC. However, the screen resolution is very low (800 x 600) and I can't run >visual effects under >display - I get an error message about the driver not supporting all extensions of the application, or something like that.
I updated Ubuntu, and installed the latest NVIDIA driver package 96. When I run >hardware under >system, it finds the NVIDIA driver and says it is installed, but I still can't change monitor resolution (or even detect monitor) or change visual effects. I have tried some of the steps in other threads I found, but most were too complicated for a noobie like me.
Any help appreciated.
My NVIDAI card is GeForce Ti 4200
