    all in

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am now all in. My system is 100% ubuntu. I just merged my partitions and erased xp. No dual boot for this guy anymore. Granted the wife is still a dual booter, but she has to have more specific programs for work and her laptop really cant go the virtual route.

Awesome, I went almost two years without a dual boot but I am back on it for grand theft auto 4 on windows XP 64-bit edition SP2. Pushing the limits of my AMD 3200, I actually get 23 FPS:

    Code:
    Statistics
    Average FPS: 23.98
    Duration: 37.09 sec
    CPU Usage: 100%
    System memory usage: 83%
    Video memory usage: 66%

    Graphics Settings
    Video Mode: 1280 x 1024 (60 Hz)
    Texture Quality: Low
    Texture Filter Quality: Highest
    View Distance: 6
    Detail Distance: 8

    Hardware
    Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Professional x64 Edition
    Service Pack 2
Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
    Video Driver version: 182.50
    Audio Adapter: Realtek AC97 Audio
    AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+

    File ID: Benchmark.cli
And who says you need a dual core for gaming, anyway always happy to see new 100% Ubuntu users.

I have decided to run xp virtually for any games that I want to play. Well those that wont play in wine. My only complaint with ubuntu thus far is that firefox is HORRIBLY unstable for some reason. I have uninstalled all addons etc but chromium is so much more stable for some reason

konqueror is good alternative too and you don't need a complete KDE installation, simply use

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install konqueror
You cannot run intense graphical games like COD5 and GTAIV through virtual box.
