Every time i install ubuntu 9.04 it just adds another os of ubuntu, I want to wipe out my old one as it was destroyed by a windows automatic installer tool. Anyway I just want to install over my old one..

You could use gparted to delete the old partition... But wait... Can't you just choose that partition when you install ubuntu?
some reason it just installs next to it, the only other option is to wipe out all the OS which I am close to doing.. just the driver installs was trying to get around.. allready did the repair thing 1-fixmbr but still leaves stuff behind.. no biggie just start from scratch and learn not to use the automatic windows hardware installer..

Choose manual partitioning during the install.
Delete old ubuntu paritions
Create a new one
Install to it
