Thunderbird - Make It Smaller in Ubuntu Netbook Remix (UNR)

Howdy folks. My first post, and my 2nd day on UNR. So far, I'm really impressed.

Apologies if my search-fu isn't good enough, but I'm trying to make the message composer in Thunderbird more compact. I've tried various themes, including:

    Littlebird 1.8.49
    MicroThunderbird 1.8.49
    miniBird 0.5.2
    PitchDark 2.0.3
    Simple Green 1.1.2

Here's the problem: all of these still devote too much space to email address lines that I rarely use. On a 10" screen, screen real estate is at a premium. There must be a way to get rid of the 3 extra address lines, or shrink them, or something.

    Right?

My first instinct would be to find a TB extension to do what you want; if that doesn't work, you can probably find out from someone in #thunderbird on irc.mozilla.org how to edit a config file. If you find out, let the rest of us know, k?

You could possibly switch to Evolution! It treats the address lines as part of the message, and lets you scroll right past them.

Murrquan: I'm happier with Thunderbird. But thanks.

Mewshi: Thanks. I'll see what I can find out.

    Thanks for the replies.
