Has anyone else had trouble with key combos no longer working after switching Kwin for Metacity? How do I fix this?

Early in the thread there is a fix for the ALT-F2 combo.

I couldn't find anything which helped - I installed kcontrol and poked about with that and couldn't get Print Screen to work.

When I run "sudo kcontrol" I get the following mesage:

    Could not find mime type
    application/octet-stream

And it isn't working with gdesklets, it makes a window of them. Should I try Superkaramba?

Yes. And right click on any window title bar to get a shot at the settings.

The icon for amaroK doesn't show up for me either. Is there any fix for this?

Re: Knome Guide: Stealing KDE's Eye Candy

    Hi,

Thanks for the info, my desktop now looks great!

The only problem that I have is probably one that's associated with the nvidia drivers, but I thought I'd ask anyway and see if somebody has some insight.

With shadowing and translucency enabled, and only when they're enabled pressing the shutdown applet (by default it's the one that looks like a door on the upper right taskbar) crashes my system. I have no other problems like this elsewhere that I've discovered, and it also doesn't happen without effects enabled.

Has anybody seen anything like this before?

    Thanks.
