Jaunty is a bust... for now

Tried to upgrade (clean install) my Inspiron 1420 to the Jackalope but it just blinked at me after starting the install. I think its a video adapter incompatibility, after wading around in the forums. Falling back to Hardy for now so I can continue to study Ubuntu Studio goodies and kde4.

Update,

Jaunty is now running on my inspiron 1420 laptop. Installed 8.10 and was then able to do a simple online upgrade to 9.04. Video worked fine but the graphics performance is limping along. I can set the enhanced desktop mode and get wobbly windows, etc. Video is just noticeably slower than version 8.* .
