Question Single click act as double click

    Hi everyone !
Since i upgraded from Intrepid to Jaunty, i got this annoying problem : my mouse's left-click act (quite often, but not all the time) as double-click. I checked everywhere i know but didn't find any clue to resolve this behavior (i found a similar problem in this forum, but it was a double entry problem for input device in xorg.conf, which is not my case).
So please what do you suggest ?
Is there anything i should try to understand and solve my mouse-gone-crazy problem ?
    (something like a dpkg-reconfigure mouse ?)
    Thanks in advance
I'm counting on you guys !

are you getting this problem with nautilus or in general?

because nautilus has an option to open files with a single click.

General problem indeed. It could happen whenever or whatever i single-click.
And it's getting quite annoying : tab unexpectedly closed in firefox (change the behavior to middle-click to close a tab), random maximized windows, words that can't be selected (double-click made me selecting entire sentence) etc etc etc

maybe its a problem with the mouse?

did you try the mouse somewhere else, or someone else's mouse on your pc?

Yes i have tried this mouse on another PC (Win xp & Intrepid dualboot). Seems to work pefectly fine on both system. I didn't tried another mouse in the current PC as it is not really a mouse (a wacom tablet).

Re: Single click act as double click

    Well, why not ?
Thing is, my xorg.conf is quite empty (ATI X800+Jaunty, so open source ati drivers) ... here it comes :
    Code:
    Section "Monitor"
    	Identifier	"Configured Monitor"
    EndSection

    Section "Screen"
    	Identifier	"Default Screen"
    	Monitor "Configured Monitor"
    	Device "Configured Video Device"
    EndSection

    Section "Device"
    	Identifier	"Configured Video Device"
    	Option "UseFBDev" "true"
    EndSection

    Section "ServerFlags"
    	Option	"DontZap"	"False"
    EndSection
    Any suggestion ?

    Hi didli,

Have you calibrated your tablet with "wacomcpl"? Which tablet do you have? Looking at the LWP HOW TO I see for stylus:
    Code:
xsetwacom set Stylus button2 "dblclick 1"
And the same option is available in wacomcpl (which I installed in Preferences). I don't know if it's available for a Wacom mouse (cursor) since I don't have one.

Re: Single click act as double click

    Hi Favux !
There is a misunderstanding here : my current problem is not with a wacom tablet, but with the mouse I used since Hardy : i-rocks RF-7550A, a cordless optical mouse for notebooks. As i was asked to test another mouse in my current system, i talked about the wacom tablet, which is the only another available mouse i had right now, but the problem is not related to the tablet. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
So do you guys have an idea for a normal mouse gone crazy since Intrepid upgrade to Jaunty ? Where should I look ?

    Hi didli,

Sorry, I should have read your posts more carefully. If you can't configure it through mouse in Preferences, and there isn't anything in Synaptics to configure your mouse I guess you'll have to locate it's .fdi file and configure it through that.

Since it is cordless is it blue tooth?
