Anyone know what the story behind Easycam is?

A few months ago I discovered this software:

However, since then it seems the server that originally hosted the deb packages that were downloaded seem to be down all the time. I visited the developers blog at http://blognux.free.fr/ but the last post there was written on Dec 22nd, and I even emailed him (in French) and didn't receive a reply.

So what I'm wondering is if anyone knows whether or not this software has been completely abandoned, if there is an alternative server the packages can still be downloaded from and if there might be something similar out there that rivals Easycam to the point of it becoming obsolete.

The only repository setup on that site is for hardy. You can grab the source code though here: http://blognux.free.fr/ubuntu/dists/hardy/main/source/

Well that (I would think) should still be of use. But I'm kind of an idiot when it comes to source code and compiling. I've done it just a couple times, using the make command. But these tar.gz files don't appear to contain a make command... In other words, I have no idea how to install this from source. Can anyone help?
