Question Bookmarks for navigating within web pages

As a uni student I often use online resources that are hundreds of 'pages' in length. When you scroll away from a particular part of the page it can be difficult to find again.

Is there a way to bookmark points or sections in the text of a web page? In many cases there are no headings or easy anchor points.

Ideally I could name/define the bookmarks and go to each section of the text with a single click.

Is anyone aware of a Firefox add-on / website / other browser that would allow me to do this?

Re: Bookmarks for navigating within web pages

I went searching through the firefox add-ons page and found this. I'm not sure if this will work or even if it will do what you're wanting but the description seems like it would be useful for your purpose. Can't hurt to give it a try.

Edit-> I'll keep looking to see if I can find anything that may be better.

Edit2 -> Also just found this. It's like a highlighter for your bookmarks.

    Today it is not working.

Re: Bookmarks for navigating within web pages

Looks good, thanks. I did browse the Mozilla Addons list ordered by popularity and didn't get to this one, I'll have to log in and vote it up if it works.

EDIT: Excellent tool that does exactly what I wanted. Ninjapirate89, you rock. Thank you.

Hyper-anchor creates normal bookmark menu entries that can then be synced with other addons, and if hyper-anchor is not installed FF3 defaults to the top of the bookmarked page.

EDIT2: I had actually found wired-marker, but hyper-anchor is much more what I'm looking for, thanks.

That's great for bookmarking individual posts. Thanks.

Combined with TagSifter, it makes really easy to bookmark individual posts and find them when people ask recurring questions.
