Shut Down choice results in Log Out

Title pretty much says it all.

When I choose to shut down from the drop down menu, I instead get logged out of my session. From there I again need to choose shut down in order to shut down the computer. Fix?

hmmm...try running (save everything before you run this...it should shut down)

sudo shutdown -h now

See if that shuts down or logs out

I get this too but not every time

Yes, shutdown -h now works so the problem is not there

Is there a bug on this?
