It's about time we had a 'video forum', with a similiar style to youtube but without the excessive commercialisation and troll-like community. The only linux-related videos youtube has mainly consist of people showing off compiz fusion, although it also has some decent tutorials, but not enough.

With this, there needs to be a reliable desktop recorder, for me at least; gtk-recordmydesktop and recordmydesktop has the video and audio out of sync and the video has an irregular capture speed.

There needs to be a community linked with ubuntuforums that is fully accustomed to making quick video responses of solutions to problems and tutorials. Linux users should branch off from youtube and google video, in my opinion, and create a site where new linux users can learn quickly from reliable video tutorials, and experienced linux users can give advice, and even show off/promote programs they have written.

I've googled linux videos and haven't seen anything impressive or as I've described. Unixtube is a candidate but it contains a lot of low quality videos and broken links.

No.. it's really unnecessary. You could just setup an official Ubuntu or Linux channel on youtube. Why should you pay for the bandwidth for a video site when you could use the a free one? I also don't know if video is the best way for direct responses to issues. Howtos? sure. I could see a high quality 10/15 min "show" on Vimeo or Youtube that answers common questions that come up, report exciting news from the linux world, and promoting cool programs.
