How to enable Toshiba ACPI support in Ubuntu

    Hi,
My Toshiba L350-170 laptop runs a lot hotter in Ubuntu than it did in Vista and the cooling fan does not kick in until the core temps reach about 80c,although if I restart at about 60c the fan kicks in on the restart.

I was hoping that the program fnfxd would enable me to sort the fan/temp out and installed it from the synaptic package manager.

When I type in fnfxd in the terminal it asks be to enable Toshiba ACPI support? Anyone able to tell me how to do this please? Or an alternative way on being able to tell the fan to switch on earlier?

    Thanks

Edit: Should be Ubuntu and not Kubuntu
