No sound in VLC, MPlayer, Exaile, Amarok2 ...
Thought I had broken something, reinstalled Jaunty - still no joy.
EDIT:
If I use "Sound playback" with gnome-sound-properties and select "HDA Intel VT1708B Analog (ALSA) and attempt to test the audio I get the message:
Code:
audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink: Could not open audio device for playback.
Testing all other all others except for OSS results in no message or sound. Testing OSS results in sound, but audio applications are still silent, though they do not complain about anything (no errors).
