Upgrade Ubuntu desktop with server kernel

Hello, I know that Ubuntu 9.04 is going to be released tomorrow and I want to upgrade my Ubuntu 8.10 to it. However, I have a hopefully simple question. I am using the Ubuntu desktop edition but am using the Ubuntu 8.10 server kernel and wounder if I do a normal upgrade through the update manager if it'll cause any problems? Because I know the desktop and server editions have different methods of upgrading.

Nevermind. Did the upgrade and everything went fine. I was worried the server kernel would be replaced with Jaunty's desktop kernel but it just upgraded the server kernel to Jaunty's server kernel. This was my first system upgrade where I didn't just go and install a "fresh" copy and I thank the Ubuntu team for making everything work so well and smooth.
