Note that the blacklist for your chipset was present for a reason - EXA/DRI1 must have been causing crashes. Whilst UXA/DRI2 may be more stable, it's equally likely that it will be more unstable. All you can do is test yourself (and be prepared for the consequences

Thanks for the reply. I would find a workaround, however, I'm not really as interested in Compiz on Gnome as I am in KDE, which was working (yet a bit slower) until I did your workaround. Now Compiz on KDE works faster on my laptop with the minimal effects I have running and that's really all I wanted. If Compiz worked in Gnome, meaning not being blacklisted, after the workaround, it would have just been a bonus, but it's not an issue. I like the KDE environment a lot more, especially KDE 4.
