    What is the best alternative for PowerDVD in Ubuntu?

    I just want to know which is the best media player in ubuntu that could fill up for Cyberlink powerDVD.

    I'd go for vlc. Its not quite as fancy as power dvd, but it plays everything without troubles and thinking about codecs and compatibilities.

    VLC is also available for windows.

    PowerDVD is also available for Ubuntu - http://shop.canonical.com.

    I'd recommend VLC also.
    I try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I avoid the terminal in instructions, unless it's easier or necessary. My instructions will work within the Ubuntu system, instead of breaking or subverting it. Those are the three guarantees to the helpee.
