    Question max volume boost

I bought a new pair of headphones and on Win XP they're very loud, I have to set master volume to 20 % and that's still a lot of sound.
On Ubuntu, I set the master volume 100% and the level of sound could be compared to the 10 % on windows only.

So is it possible to somehow boost the maximum volume? Maybe through JACK or something.

there are other levels involved, they separate system sounds from actual media.

    try raising pcm and front.

Well, they're both at max. I if lower them, the sound volume gets extremely low.
