I've just upgraded online from Gutsy to Hardy 8.04 LTS. Since then, no sound. When I go into <System-Preferences-Sound> and use the test buttons (with all devices set to 'Auto-detect'), I get the following error message: 'audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink: Failed to connect stream: Invalid argument'. I have tried purging the alsa drivers and re-installing them with no success. I have an on-board ATI soundcard which worked perfectly well in Gutsy, and continues to work perfectly well in XP (dual operating system). When I try the Volume control in the system tray, the error message informs me that I don't have the right Gstreamer plug-ins installed.
Please tell me how I can resolve this. Thanks

Chris
