    Text editor for large files

¿Anyone knows of a good graphical text editor which won't load the whole file into memory?
I need to edit files 1-2GBs in size and would prefer not to load the whole file into memory. Sometimes the memory isn't even enough.
Tried gedit, vim, gvim, madedit, leafpad and geany. They all load the whole file to memory before allowing you to edit.
An app which will only load the part of the file which shows on the screen like the "less" command does would be perfect.
    Thanks for reading.
    Cheers!

Tried mcedit from Midnight Commander but it tells me the file is too large.
