How to change the look of My Ubuntu

How do I change my ubuntu to look some thing like this:

    http://rohitjoshi.wordpress.com/2007...s/kde-desktop/

The goal is only the menu on the bottom instead of having the applications and other stuff on the bar in the top.

Well, in the screenshot the DE which is being used is KDE. I suggest you take Kubuntu for a run. It's basically Ubuntu (so all the terminal phrases you know will work) with KDE as the DE. Try it HERE. If you don't want to try KDE, I'm sure there are themes which you can download from HERE that will achieve what you are looking for.

Install the mint menu from the repos in synaptic
Also visit http://www.gnome-look.org for themes, icons etc..

If I was going to chose a different look, under what category are the bars under (that bar that will hold my menus, apps, etc)

If you just want the menu in the bottom, then you don't need anything else. Just right click in the panel, select properties, then change the orientation to bottom or simply drag the bar to the bottom. You can also create a new panel in the bottom and drag the menu from the top panel to it or add a new menu.

Right-click the panel and select "Add to Panel' so see what other stuff you can put there.

Is under GTK 2, but is not only the bar, but the entire gnome theme.

If you want to try a new menu, then I recommend Gimmie.

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install gimmie
