Question Laptop wifi choice: ThinkPad 11b/g III Mini-PCIe *or* Intel WiFi Link 5100???

Right now I'm thinking of buying a Lenovo ThinkPad SL500. The only problem seems to be the wireless support (I've spent all afternoon reading about it). There are two options for wireless cards:

    • ThinkPad 11b/g III Wi-Fi wireless LAN Mini-PCIe (an Atheros card which uses the ath9k driver or MadWifi)
    • Intel WiFi Link 5100 (a card which uses Intel drivers)

... I've read a lot of posts where people have had trouble with both cards (+drivers), so I don't know which one to choose. Which card (in your opinion) has the best drivers at the moment? Please reply if you have one of these cards or if you know lots about this.

    Thanks.

Errm, this is a $1700 investment...

    anyone????

Edit: ok nevermind. It's not integrated so I can probably try out multiple cards until I find one that works.
