Problems with HP laptop volume slider.

I have an hp laptop with a touch volume adjustment (pavilion dv5). The volume slider keeps rapidly adjusting itself. Basically, if I touch the volume adjuster once, it thinks I am constantly changing it. The volume level indicator pops up on the screen and the orange bar jumps all over.

Is there any way I can fix my volume slider or at least turn it off?

I have the same problem on a Dell minitower with 8.10. I had trouble with the onboard sound so I plugged in my USB MobilePre device, and that's when it started for me. I can't find much about this issue on Google, but you can certainly disable the volume slider by right-clicking on the volume icon and choosing "Remove from panel". I'll try and chime in again if I stumble across a solution.

I have the same problem on my HP Pavillon DV5. At the beginning, everything worked fine but suddenly it appeared. I really don't know where this comes from and how to fix it.

    Thanks for your help!

I am having this issue as well. I have a zv6000 (and a mobilepre, which is having a set of problems all it's own)
