Is there a functional use for the scroll lock key?

    at all?

like, is it just an ancient holdover from days long past? or is there still a use for it?

Re: Is there a functional use for the scroll lock key?

In the 20-something years I've been using x86-based computers, I've NEVER seen a use for the Scroll Lock button. The laptop I'm using at the moment doesn't even have one, but it does have SysRq on the PrtSc button.
Although I've encountered anecdotal evidence of a use for the SysRq key, I've never had the need for that one either.
