I have a Dell e1505, and most everything works great. But about half the time I resume from suspend, the hard drive goes into such use of the hard drive that it becomes impossible to do anything, and I have to kill X. At first it was just inconvenient, but after a few months now, it's really starting to get on my nerves. Also, hibernate errors out about the same amount of times that suspend causes the hard drive to freak out. Is this a known problem than can be fixed?

Running Ubuntu 8.10 with the latest FGLRX drivers.
