    Cant install Flash!

    Hi

    I am having problems installing flash. Well, I think I do have it installed but I cant use it I.e In youtube I get a message saying "Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player."

    Can someone please help me install it?

    Open the Synaptic Package Manager, search for ubuntu-restricted-extras and install it. That will install a variety of packages including flash.

    If you are using 64 bit Ubuntu there are known problems with flash though.

    Go to Add/Remove... in Applications and then type Ubuntu Restricted into the search box. Tick the item labeled "Ubuntu Restricted Extras" and then Apply and you will have all the needed internet and media apps and codecs. Including flash.

    @jaminux - I like to keep directions away from the terminal and synaptic unless its really needed since its more user friendly. and thats what we want

    thank you so much! I had the same problem.. installing flash on 64 bit was a nightmare but this put an end to my misery!! The link given by Ferguson9 worked like a charm!

    What problems with 64 bit Flash?

    Download 64 bit Flash 10 from Adobe's web site, extract it, install it in the appropriate folders, restart Firefox.

    What's so hard about that?
