    Angry Glib upgrade

    Hey,
I've been running Ubuntu for about a year now, recently upgraded to the newest edition. I was installing GNU Cash and was told to upgrade GLIB, as I had 2.1.8 (I think). I installed the newest edition (2.8.6), then uninstalled the older since the shell told me to. I noticed I might be in trouble when it said all it was uninstalling... just about everything. Now when I reboot, I only get a promt screen. Any suggestions, and any additional info you need?
    Thanks kindly,
    Nathan Mathis

Re-install. It might be possible to recover from this mess but a re-install is a lot faster and safer.

When I do, how do you suggest I upgrade GLIB?
Thanks for your quick reply btw.
