    Hotspot Shield with Ubuntu

I followed this instructions for using hotspot shield in ubuntu http://markusthielmann.com/blog/hotspot_shield_ubuntu
but I don't know how to use this.
    I get this log message:
    Feb 19 14:31:42 garmo-desktop pppd[23594]: pppd 2.4.4 started by root, uid 0
    Feb 19 14:31:42 garmo-desktop pppd[23594]: Using interface ppp0

    Feb 19 14:32:47 garmo-desktop pppd[23594]: Terminating on signal 15

and that happens every time, could someone help with this or know what this means?

I having a similar result, although the problem seams to be different.

Here is my xl2tpd -D output:

Also after the vpn activation my routing table contains two default routes:

    default * 0.0.0.0 U 0 0 0 ppp0
    default FDSNET_RISTOW.v 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 eth1

    Thanks.

    Re: Hotspot Shield with Ubuntu

I found some info and I quote from this website: http://www.kalvster.com/tools/vpn-ub...ot-shield.html

So it appears they are filtering non-iPhone connections and so using this method is not possible.

    My other options now are:

    Using virtualization software
Connecting through a server that has HotSpot Shield already set up.
I have been trying as well to set up HotSpot Shield in my Ubuntu, but with no success...

    =/

Ps: I found in some websites that people were recommending to use ultrasurf because it might work w/ ubuntu... here is a link to a tutorial: http://jaxov.com/2009/09/how-to-unbl...trasurf-linux/

    Re: Hotspot Shield with Ubuntu

Any luck with getting this going? Not being able to connect to l2tp vpn's is a serious hinderance to using ubuntu in countries that block internet access..
