I have a problem with a Creative EMU 0404 usb sound card in XP.
WhenI play a file, I get blips of static throughout.

The problem does not persist if I:
use onboard sound
use the external card on a different machine

The problem persists if I:
reinstall drivers
try a different USB port on a different PCI card
