Question Combat Arms Ubuntu Trademark Infringement?

Have you guys read this article about the game "Combat Arms" committing Trademark infringement, by using the Ubuntu logo? I must say I agree for the most part, but it does seem a little ridiculous.

    What do ya guys think?

It is a trademark infringement , it is the same as (totally same) the ubuntu's logo.Canonical should send a notice

It looks like they took the Ubuntu logo and just desaturated it to grey. There is no way they just came up with that one their own. If they did then Ubuntu users everywhere mush have used psychic powers to put the logo in their brains

Wow, I play Combat Arms every now and then, but I never noticed that!

That is most definitely trademark infringement!

    How can we report this?

That logo is so undefined it hardly seems worth perusing.
You can't even see the breaks between the curves and the orbs.

I'd suggest contacting Canonical directly if you feel the need.

We should all send Canonical an email informing them to take action(a "cease and desist" order, as the article suggests.)

Here's how many ways I could find to contact them...

    webmaster@canonical.com
    webmaster@ubuntu.com

I kind of agree, it's really not worth it.

I say this it is worth pursuing, because not doing so would set a president, and give proprietary software/content vendors the idea that they can violate the already liberal licenses of our trademarks.

Plus, though many people are not aware of it, owning a Trademark does not provide limitless protection. The law states that if a company does not actively protect their Trademark, they will lose it.

This means that if other companies are using your logo, or something very close to it, you must actively protect it. First, you need to be aware of any Trademark infringement, and second, you must warn or take legal action against violators of your Trademark.

I would think that is Canonical really cares they will do something. I think it is funny that they used a symbol of people in a circle holding hands on a war game. That is what I do when I run into my friends on the battle field, we drop our weapons and hold hands. The power of love
