    KDE4.2 on netbook?

Now that KDE has released 4.2, I'm considering returning to Kubuntu on my desktop, which I migrated to Xubuntu on Intrepid because KDE4/KDE4.1 was a mess.

Now that people and the devs themselves are saying 4.2 is suitable for everyday use, I was wondering what people think of trying it on a netbook. Has anyone tried running Kubuntu 8.10 on the Mini? Any plans to try 4.2?

If I get around to it, I'll let you know the results. Xubuntu just didn't seem to fit well on the 1024x600 screen

The first thing that jumps to mind is the OMGHUEG 200-pixel panel. That'd be the first thing to go on a 1024x600 netbook.

Definitely. Even on my desktop, I crank that thing down.

I tried kubuntu alpha 3 on my mini 9, it was definitely usable, but also somewhat slow. I ended up switching back to crunchbang since that runs a lot smoother, if your a strong kde user it might be worth it though.
