    Exclamation Re: xserver-xorg not starting

Damn I have this problem too after installing new graphics cards...

I get (EE) No devices detected. Meanwhile modprobe nvidia works and lspci | grep VGA gives me

    Code:
02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce GTX 285 (rev a1)
03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce GTX 285 (rev a1)
Can't I just specify the pci address in xorg.conf or something? This is making me hate Ubuntu.

    hi drvid,
Sorry to read you have the same problem.
There must be a solution without the need to re-instal. Shoud be the last resort
    Could not find one, though.

    Do you have envyng installed?
Give it a go and let me know.

I will have a look in my xorg.conf and let you know if I see the pci adress. I know the feeling lol.
