    entering password in terminal, newbie question

    im installing from the terminal, after typing the sudo code it asked for password.

    i cant type my password, is there a format code for it? like starting with sudo?

    also where can i learn about this sudo codes for terminal?

    What do you mean you can't type your password?

    That's all that's needed, so if you can explain why you can't type it, someone can probably help! Once you type your password, you're done.

    its not typing it, i press the keyboard nothing shows even dots


    administrator@ubuntu sudo apt-get install freepops
    [sudo] password for administrator: (here i type my password nothing shows up even dots)

    its ok i typed my password and enter

    its installing tnx, so it wont show up.......

    I always understood this as a security feature to keep prying eyes from seeing the character length of your password. It's definitely a little confusing at first.
