I hope this is appropriate thread to ask. Is it possible to install Ubuntu on Macbook (I have 2,1 Macbook, I think, 2.1Core2Duo, Intel, black, 1G RAM, bought in summer 2007) without installing OS X? As far as I figured out, EFI partition is something that must exist, but still don't get all things. Thank You in advance for any kind of answer.

(i.e. don't have to have the EFI partition.) The second topic in the FAQ deals with how you can install: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Ma...elInstallation

I have managed to install only Ubuntu on macbook. Problem was that I was constantly trying to install Ubuntu on some partition scheme that wasn't good. Then I made new partition scheme by selecting msdos type, and then normally made partitions from installer, and everything works like a charm. There's, dough, that problem with ~30 sec grey screen before GRUB shows up when booting system, but I can live with that.

How do you mean "bless it"? Bring a priest? Kidding, of course. Any tutorial how to do that, maybe?
